Olivia Lynch

Kaiwawao Matua | Associate

I assist clients in all areas of family law, including separation, relationship property, asset protection, parenting, family violence, spousal maintenance, surrogacy and/or adoption, paternity, and Oranga Tamariki matters.

My professional career started in Rotorua in 2019, where, as a graduate lawyer I initially assisted clients with general property matters such as conveyancing, estate administration, Wills, and asset planning.  In 2020, I discovered my affinity for family law.  I spent the next 3 years in Rotorua developing my skills across the full spectrum of family law issues, before moving down to Wellington to continue my practice.

Going through a separation process can be one of the more difficult and challenging experiences a person can face in their life.  My goal is to keep my clients well informed with calm and pragmatic advice to ensure that they are able to make the best decisions for themselves and their whānau.  I enjoy assisting my clients to achieve a good result without the need for Court intervention.

If it does become necessary to seek assistance through the Family Court, I have a wealth of experience advocating for clients and guiding them through that process.  I also accept Counsel to Assist appointments,  undertaking various tasks to assist the Court when it is dealing with a particular matter.

I grew up in the Waikato and completed a degree in history and law down in Wellington in 2019.  As a Victoria University graduate, I love living in our capital city exploring all it has to offer.

If I'm not out at a cafe or restaurant with friends and family or at home reading, I am usually either at the gym, netball court or out on Oriental Bay running.
