Stella Harrison
Ākonga ture | Law Clerk
Kia Ora!
I grew up in Lower Hutt and spent much of my childhood on the courts and fields playing competitive netball, football, and athletics. I later moved to Dunedin to study at Ōtākou Whakaihu Waka (University of Otago), where I completed a Bachelor of Laws (Hons) and a Bachelor of Arts, majoring in Psychology. I first joined Tiaki Family Law as a Summer Law Clerk in 2024 and am now excited to return in a graduate position.
My interest in the law, and family law in particular, comes from a long-standing passion for fairness, equality, and advocating for those who may not always have a voice. I value the opportunity to support individuals and whānau through what are often complex and emotionally challenging times.
During my honours year, I completed my dissertation on the fair trial rights of children. This research reflects my strong interest in issues affecting children and young people, and my passion for ensuring their rights and voices are recognised within the legal system.
I am committed to providing guidance that is both thoughtful and practical. I appreciate the trust clients place in us during periods of uncertainty and transition, and my aim is to help you understand your options, make informed decisions, and work toward outcomes that strengthen and protect the well-being of you and your whānau.
When I’m not at work, I enjoy learning pottery, keeping active on the netball courts and spending time with my friends and whānau.
